Picture of the Day 05

August 18, 2006

Sign

What’s strange about this picture? The fact this gentleman has decided to have a read next to roadworks on a busy Welsh road?

No, what makes this picture worth sharing, is the Welsh translation on the sign.

The Welsh equivalent of ‘Cyclists Dismount’ should be ‘Dim Beicio’ or ‘Man Disgyn i Feicwyr’. However, an obviously English speaking individual from the Vale of Glamorgan Council decided that ‘Llid y Bledren Dymchwelyd’ was an appropriate translation.

Unfortunately that translates back into English as ‘Bladder Disease has Returned

That’s a good a reason as any to get off your bike.
