If you ask me this guy should be banned for ATLEAST 3 months. But I thought De Rossi’s challenge on McBride in the World Cup deserved the same. Instead the chap was back for the final. Just shows how stupid FIFA is.

this is sick, he shud get banned for ages i rekkon cuz if u watch it slowly he doesnt watch the ball once and his eyes are straight at mendes’ face so its obvious he wanted to hit him…. maybe not do that much damage but to still cause pain.
its 10000 times worse than de rossi’s challenge on McBride because he wasnt looking at the player but was trying to unfairly get higher up to head the ball.. still bad but nothing compared to that.
Thats a prick of a thing to do. Should be banned for life. It’s cool to have little knock here and there but not an elbow across the face at full speed.
My 2 cents… This guy should be banned from the sport permanently. If FIFA did that for the next 2 or 3 mf****rs that pulled something like this, those would surely be the last ones. Soccer wouldn’t miss them anyway; only an animal does something like this to a colleague.
